This "instructor update" course is a 1-day / 8-hour "add-on" course to pair with one of our other courses for a 2-day or 3-day training event. This course is designed to show shotgun instructors the latest in shooting techniques and training methodology. A variety of ideas and philosophies will be discussed and explored among peers.

Topics include:

Weapon presentation / shooting platform
Buckshot patterning
Reloads
Malfunctions
Conventional / unconventional shooting positions
Shooting from cover
Bi-lateral shooting
Injured person techniques
Multiple target engagements
Shooting on the move
And more...

Student Required Equipment:

Pump action or semi-automatic shotgun with tactical sling and weapon mounted light
Duty pistol with 3 magazines
Duty or belt holster (OWB only)
100 rounds of rifled slug
100 rounds of birdshot
10 rounds of duty buckshot
100 rounds of handgun ammunition
Hearing and eye protection
Hat with a brim
Weather appropriate gear
Snacks and hydration fluids

Hosting Requirements:

Classroom (for 16-20 people) with projector and screen or monitor
A 25-50 yard range / 10 lanes wide minimum
At least eight (8) portable target stands
Traffic / sport cones (8-10)
Four (4) portable cover stands
Steel targets (optional)
